Keep Pottsboro Beautiful Commission

Motto: Pride today makes a promising tomorrow.

Mission Statement: To encourage individuals to take greater responsibility for enhancing their community environment.

The Keep Pottsboro Beautiful Commission was established in 2007 to beautify and improve the overall quality of life for the City of Pottsboro residents. The commission is made up of six volunteer members that organize and conduct programs dedicated to preserving and protecting the quality of Pottsboro’s environment by taking a leadership role in education through public awareness and interest. KPB has been an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful since 2008.

The commission has created a Frontage Property Recognition Program, Demolition Assistance Program, has sponsored a county-wide Earth Day Conference, assisted with the city’s annual Spring/Fall Cleanups, and participates in the annual Texas Trash Off. Projects include, planting flowers at James G. Thompson & Friendship Parks and other areas throughout Pottsboro, which have really improved the look of the city. They have also provided the “Welcome to Pottsboro” sign on SH 289 (in conjunction with Texoma Trees), installed a sprinkler system and landscaping around the gazebo at Friendship Park, took part in the adopt-a-highway trash pick-up along the major thoroughfares and much more.
