9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. excluding holidays.

 

 The Pottsboro Municipal Court is a court of non-record that conducts court hearings and is dedicated to providing a fair independent, and impartial forum for handling fine only cases.

HOW TO PAY

 

Payments for traffic fines, court costs and warrant fees may be made to the Pottsboro Municipal Court in several different ways.  Payment options are provided below.  Credit card payments will incur a convenience fee. If you have questions regarding payment options, please do not hesitate to contact the court clerk at 903-786-2281, ext. 2. 

    • Payments in person can be made at the Court Office located at 411 Franklin Avenue, Pottsboro, Texas 75076 during regular business hours.  The Court accepts check, cashier's check, money order, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.  Make all checks and money orders payable to the City of Pottsboro.  

 

ONLINE PAYMENTS - Before paying your citation online you need to determine if you are eligible.   

    • Any person under the age of 17 must appear in court before the judge in person with a parent or legal guardian. Online payments will be rejected and you will lose your payment fees.  Additionally, any defendant charged with a status offense must appear in person.  Status offences are those offenses that are only illegal because of the defendant's age at the time of the offense, such as: Minor in possession of alcohol, minor in possession of tobacco, minor in consumption of alcohol, etc.
    • Pleas and WaiversBy making a payment of your citation you are entering a plea of no contest, waiving your right to a jury trial and waiving your right to discovery.  DO NOT pay online if you would like to plead not guilty on your citation.

PAYMENTS BY MAIL - The Court accepts check, cashier's check, money order. Plea by mail forms are required with payments made by mail placed in the night deposit.

  • Do you want to request Deferred Adjudication or to complete a Driver's Safety Course for dismissal of your citation?  You will need to determine if you are eligible for these options prior to paying your citation by contacting the Court. You will be responsible for paying the appropriate amount for the option you choose plus any payment fees.  Failure to pay the correct amount may result in your request being denied by the Court. o   PAYING WARRANTS - Contact the Court to find out the total amount due on your account.  If you do not pay the correct amount, your warrant will not be lifted and the hold will not be removed from your driver license. Cashier's Check or Money Order is the only form of payment accepted for warrants.

REQUESTS FOR DISMISSAL - The following charges may be dismissed with the required documentation.  Contact the court office for additional information.
              • No Insurance
              • Expired Driver’s License
              • Expired Registration
              • Expired Inspection
              • Failure to Change Address on Driver License within 30 days
              • Failure to Display Driver License.
